Cycle Improvements is an official representative of MX TECH Suspension in Canada.
MX-TECH was founded in 1992 while Jeremy Wilkey was a freshman in college. Jeremy chose to pursue a business in suspension based on his experience as a racer and his keen interest in suspension tuning and set-up. It was not long before his work ethic and curiosity to learn more about motorcycle suspension started catching the attention of industry professionals. Jeremy traveled widely, building suspension and learning from established names. Magazines such as Motocross Action, Dirt Rider, and Dirt Bike feature glowing reviews of MX-TECH’s suspension tuning and products. Websites, internet forums, and printed books feature Jeremy’s advice and articles.
John Lakovich, founder of Palo Verde Suspension, completed his bachelor of science degree in engineering at ASU. After working in this field for a few years, John decided to use his technical knowledge and skills in the motorcycle industry. John started Palo Verde Suspension in May of 2000.
John was still pursuing a superior approach to suspension when he started conversing with MX-TECH owner Jeremy Wilkey. John determined that MX-TECH \'s innovation, design and approach addressed the "complete package" of a bike\'s suspension and soon became an MX-Tech associate. John worked hard to make sure that Palo Verde met MX-TECH\\\'s strict technical and customer service oriented requirements of a suspension associate.
In the latter part of 2006, John’s National Guard Unit was called to active duty. Since neither John nor Jeremy wanted Palo Verde Suspension to fade into history, they recruited Richard Sawitskas for the job of General Manager and President at Palo Verde Suspension, Inc. Forming a new company that carries on the sprit of professionalism and expertise the Lakovich’s had in their company, but adding also the full scope of MX-TECH’s resources.
Richard has over 25 years of experience in the motorcycle industry, having worked for companies such as White Brothers, KTM North America and Factory Connection. During his time with White Brothers, Richard became very familiar with the WP Suspension line of products. His knowledge of the WP line was such that in 1999, when KTM Sportmotorcycles purchased the WP Suspension factory, Richard was hand-picked to be the WP Suspension import manager for KTM North America. It was at this time that Richard got to know Jeremy and set MX-Tech up as an Official WP Suspension Distributor.
Today MX-TECH continues on its mission, developing cutting edge technology, working with the best in the industry, and sharing our passion with the public by offering the best in products, and customer support. Jeremy has established trade with leading businesses around the world, works one on one with other leading professionals to advance the technology and understanding of suspension design and theory.
With Richard at the helm of Palo Verde Suspension and Jeremy guiding MX-TECH, the companies are pushing forward with their long range goals: Delivering expedited service and MX-TECH components to our customers across the country even faster, and with more personalized service with greater collaboration than previously possible.
Philosophy: MX-TECH and Palo Verde Suspension strive to build suspension that is both plush and controlled. We don’t just make your suspension stiffer or softer; we address all aspects, all components and build you something that works with a controlled and stable feel. We believe that only by taking a holistic approach to tuning - balancing spring rate, piston design, and valve settings - that a rider can have the most control and the least compromise.
